Diving

Diving is separated into 3 different classifications:

  • Springboard (1m and 3m)
  • Platform (5m, 7m and 10m)
  • Synchronised events for both men and women
Diving requires the athlete to be small, lean and well-muscled.  This body composition provides physical advantages including better mechanical efficiency, increased power-to-weight ratio and a favourable image to diving judges but this type of physique requires careful nutritional planning to avoid nutrient deficiencies through restricted eating.

Topics discussed in the diving fact sheet include eating for training and during competition, managing body fat levels, hydration management and recovery post-training and competition
