Sonja Kukuljan
B. App. Sc (Human Movement), Grad Dip (Human Nutr), Master Nutrition and Dietetics, APD, Acc Sports Dietitian
Sonja has 18 years experience in the health and fitness industry and has worked in numerous health and fitness clubs as a sports dietitian to recreational athletes since 2002, while pursuing her interest in the science of sports nutrition.
In February 2003, Sonja was awarded a scholarship to complete her PhD candidature within the 'Centre for Physical Activity and Nutrition Research' at Deakin University. Her PhD research has involved conducting a unique longitudinal study to investigate the effects of exercise and nutrition on musculoskeletal health in men over 50 years of age. In February 2006, Sonja took up the position of Unit Chair and Principal Lecturer in Sports Nutrition, School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences at Deakin University. Sonja is now the dietitian consultant to A2 Dairy products.
Zoë Watt
B. App. Sc, Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics, APD, Acc Sports Dietitian
Zoe is a sports dietitian working in private practice at Nutritionlab and Sydney Sports Medicine Centre. Zoe also consults to sporting teams and clubs, corporate clients and nursing homes. She is a Level 1 Anthropometrist and a sports nutrition provider to the New South Wales Institute of Sport (NSWIS) tennis, swimming and soccer teams. Zoe is also an SDA consultant to Gatorade and represents the company at various sporting events.
Ben Desbrow
BSc(UQ), GD(Nut&Diet) (QUT), MHSc (Deakin), PhD (GU), Sports Dietitian
Ben is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Senior Lecturer at Griffith University on the Gold Coast. Before his academic life, Ben worked as a clinical dietitian at the Wesley Hospital in Brisbane for 8 years in the areas of oncology, stem cell transplantation and haemodialysis.
In 1999, Ben was awarded the first Nestlé Fellowship in Sports Nutrition at the Australian Institute in Sport. Since this time Ben has also worked for the British Olympic Team, the Australian Institute of Sport Cricket Centre of Excellence in Brisbane as well as completing a PhD in sports nutrition. Ben is the current program convenor of the Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics at Griffith University, has authored numerous peer-reviewed nutrition journal articles and has written a number of nutrition textbook chapters.
