Career Development Pathway

To create leaders in sports nutrition practice, SDA has established a career pathway to assist members, and those interested in pursuing a career in sports nutrition, to attain the highest level of qualification available in sports nutrition.

The pathway recognises the different levels of qualifications and experiences that exist within the sports nutrition industry, and equips members with continuing education and professional development opportunities and resources to stay up to date and at the forefront of sports nutrition information in Australia.

Once accredited, members can display the SDA logo with their member category, providing assurance to their clients that they are experts in their field and ‘leaders in sports nutrition practice’.

More information about categories, fees and points needed to be an Accredited Sports Dietitian and an Advanced Sports Dietitian can be found here: Categories and Fees.

Members are required to accrue points for professional development and professional experience and log these via the members only section of the website. Activities include attending conferences and state branch meetings, reading journals, writing sports nutrition articles, presenting at SDA education courses, completing online courses and many more!

Re-accreditation
Every three years, members are required to accrue and upload a minimum 250 points worth of activities to re-accredit as an Accredited Sports Dietitian, or 1500 points to re-accredit as an Advanced Sports Dietitian.

Audit Process
Accredited Sports Dietitian and Advanced Sports Dietitian members are randomly audited annually. Click here to view the CDP audit policy.
