Category: Drink *Serve size = Amount served in vendors own take-away cups. Comments The espresso coffee "shot" forms the basis of many other commercial coffee varieties. Therefore the caffeine value of the espresso is likely to represent the lowest value of caffeine found in other commercial coffee varieties. Suitable for: Nawrot et al 2003 described the no adverse effect levels for caffeine as 400mg/day for healthy adults (i.e, 6mg/kg BW/day), 300mg/day for pregnant women and 45mg/day 2.5mg/kg BW/day for children.
