Comments

  • Claims to be developed for "times of increased stress" as it "increases physical endurance, improves and increases concentration and reaction speed, improves vigilance and stimulates metabolism"
  • Taste tart/sour
  • Carbohydrate source ~ 30g carbohydrate per serve with a "hit" of caffeine
  • Best served chilled

Suitable for:

  • Not suitable for children, pregnant or lactating women. Also indicates not suitable for caffeine sensitive individuals on packaging.
  • Athletes using for "caffeine hit" need to be made aware of "flat" feeling that can be experienced after the intake of ~80mg caffeine and the potential effects on performance.
  • Red Bull should not be used as a replacement for sports drink due to it's higher carbohydrate concentration, low sodium formulation.  Additional information on this can be found at www.coachesedge.com.au and Sports Dietitians Australia Fact Sheet on Sports Drinks.
