Comments
- Pleasant tasting sports gel providing a concentrated form of carbohydrate. Coming in convenient sachets, they can be easily carried in the hand or in the back of a cycling jersey.
- While they have a lower carbohydrate content than other gels on the market, their lower viscosity means they are easily consumed "on the run".
- While the gels contain BCAA, there is limited evidence of the benefits of such supplementation during exercise.
- The gels are best consumed with water to speed up the rate of gastric emptying and minimise the chance of gastric upset.
Suitable for:
- Athletes undertaking endurance type exercise (>1 hour) where carbohydrate availability is a limiting factor on performance e.g. road cycling, marathon running, triathlon.
- Athletes participating in intermittent team sports lasting > 1 hour or athletes competing in a number of events throughout the day e.g. swimming carnival.
