Are you a passionate and experienced Sports Performance Dietitian looking to make an impact in elite cricket? WA Cricket is seeking a dedicated professional to join our high performance team and support the nutritional needs of our top athletes.
About the Role
As the Sports Performance Dietitian, you will work closely with full time athletes in the WA Men’s and Women’s State Programs, as well as the Perth Scorchers Men’s and Women’s teams. You will also provide education and guidance to emerging pathway athletes, ensuring they develop strong nutrition foundations for performance and long-term success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting one-on-one consultations with players to support their performance, recovery, and overall wellbeing.
- Tracking and assessing anthropometry (e.g., body composition, skinfold testing, DEXA) to monitor athlete development.
- Hydration monitoring and strategies to optimise player performance.
- Providing education and resources to emerging pathway athletes to instil best nutritional practices.
- Collaborating with coaches, medical staff, and other key stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to player wellbeing.
- Ensuring adherence to Cricket Australia policies and best practice guidelines for sports nutrition.
About You
Minimum Qualifications/Experience
- Accredited Practicing Dietitian status with Dietitians Association of Australia
- Current Accredited Member of Sports Dietitians Australia
- Level 1 ISAK Accreditation
- Sports Dietitian experience with elite athletes or teams
Highly Desirable Qualifications
- Advanced Accredited Sports Dietitian status within Sports Dietitians Australia
- Postgraduate qualifications in Nutrition or the IOC Sports Nutrition Diploma
- Sports nutrition research experience
- 3+ years’ sports dietitian experience with elite athletes or teams
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated and professional dietitian who thrives in a high performance environment and possesses:
- A degree in Dietetics, with sports dietetics accreditation (e.g., SDA Accredited Sports Dietitian).
- Experience working with elite or high performance athletes, ideally in team sports.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with athletes, coaches, and support staff.
- A commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
