Nutrition Claims:

No artificial colours, flavours or preservatives

The good news:

  • Convenient, portable and easy to eat on-the-go
  • Great taste and texture
  • Reasonably high in protein for a snack food

The not-so good news:

  • Small serving size, may not satisfy hunger or appetite
  • Long ingredient list, with the first ingredient being a sweetener
  • The product is highly processed, containing many additives like emulsifiers, gums and stabilisers
  • Product is quite high in sugar, with the equivalent of around two teaspoons per serve
  • Very sweet, tastes like confectionery

Bottom Line:

Bounce energy balls are marketed as a protein rich snack, but their high sugar content and long ingredient list should be also be considered when deciding whether to include them in your nutrition plan. Although they are portion controlled and easily portable they are expensive ($3.50 per serve) so may not be suitable for all budgets.
